His Name Is Aliko Dangote

A decade ago most people outside Nigeria would have said, "Aliko who?"
Not anymore. In 2008 he became the first Nigerian to make it onto Forbes' rich list. In 2011 the magazine disclosed: "The Nigerian businessman's fortune surged 557 percent in the past year, making him the world's biggest gainer in percentage terms and Africa's richest individual for the first time." (According to Forbes, as of March 2012 he was the second richest black man in the world, having recently been displaced by Saudi/Ethiopian Mohammed Hussein Al Amoudi)
Now everyone else is paying attention.

Nigeria: Bloomberg Names Dangote, 62nd Richest Man in the World

The President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group of Companies, Mr. Aliko Dangote has been rated the 62nd richest man in the world with a net worth of $13.5 billion.
According to a report by Bloomberg tagged, 'The World's 200 Richest People,' Dangote is said to be richer than Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, Rupert Murdoch, CEO and founder of News Corporation, Giorgio Armani, founder of Armani designs who were stated as having net worths of $10.7 billion, $10.4 billion and $7.8 billion respectively.
